First Fridays at Old Capitol Books – an occasional, not quite monthly night of poetry, music and art.
This month we’re excited to have two poets: Tongo Eisen-Martin and Wendy Trevino. They’ll be joined by musical performer La Sofa Queen, and artist Chloe Wilson.

Originally from San Francisco, Tongo Eisen-Martin is a poet, movement worker and educator. His book titled, Someone’s Dead Already was nominated for a California Book Award. His latest book of poems Heaven Is All Goodbyes was published in the City Lights Pocket Poets Series and is currently shortlisted for the California Book Award and Griffin Poetry Prize.
Wendy Trevino was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. She lives in San Francisco, where she shares an apartment with her boyfriend, friend, & two senior cats. She has published chapbooks with Perfect Lovers Press, Commune Editions, & Krupskaya Books. Her chapbook “#YourHarveyWeinstein” was published by Spoilsport Editions — an online press she started with the writer Oki Sogumi — in 2017. Her first full-length book of poetry – Cruel Fiction – will be published by Commune Editions in the fall of 2018. Wendy is not an experimental writer.
