Marx’s Capital Reading Group

Old Capitol Books is hosting Monterey’s premier Capital reading group. We meet the last Sunday of each month in 2026-2027 and will read Marx’s Capital.

There will be 12 total meetings starting at 10am. Dates and reading schedule:

October 25th: Chapters 2 & 3 (Video lecture // Handout)
November 29th: Chapters 4, 5 & 6 (Video lecture // Handout)
December 27th: Chapters 7, 8 & 9 (Video lecture // Handout)
January 31st, 2027: Chapters 10 & 11 (Video lecture // Handout)
February 28th, 2027: Chapters 12, 13 & 14 (Video lecture // Handout)
March 28th, 2027: Chapter 15 (first part) (Video lecture // Handout)
April 25th, 2027: Chapter 15 (second part) (Video lecture // Handout)
May 20th, 2027: Chapters 23 & 24 (Video lecture // Handout)
June 27th, 2027: Chapter 25 (Video lecture // Handout)
July 25th, 2027: Chapters 26-33 (Video lecture // Handout)

Each meeting, we will introduce key ideas from the readings, watch a lecture on the reading of David Harvey, and then move to a cafe to discuss main ideas and dive deeper into the texts.

Reading before attending is not required, but is recommended to get the most out of the reading group.
