A very personal narrative on immigration, overcoming cultural shock and assimilating into the U.S. The author takes you through various stages of transition, from country to country, from childhood to young adulthood and more. The descriptions of the rural Mexico are felt by the reader, the scenes, the scents, the traditions and culture that seem to evaporate as new traditions are adopted with the false assumption of becoming more American.
