Theory & Philosophy Reading Group XIII: Antonio Negri

Wednesday September 23rd 2015, 7pm: Our Theory & Philosophy reading groups with the Direct Action Monterey Network have been a great success for over a year, and we’re coming up on our thirteenth iteration with the works of Marxist theorist, Antonio Negri. We’re super excited to continue our readings highlighting theorists, thinkers, and philosophers who have been imprisoned. These reading groups have been chosen in solidarity with statewide actions against solitary confinement.

Live Music at Old Capitol Books: ESTOY SUERTE, JCHICA & BATHWATER

Saturday July 18th @ Old Capitol Books there will be an experimental music showcase in their back alley. The show will begin with a solo set by ESTOY SUERTE followed by a group set with groupmates JCHICA & BATHWATER. They will be focusing on synthesized, programmed, and sample based approaches to collective spontaneous composition.

Show starts at 7pm and is free and open to all ages.

Theory & Philosophy Reading Group XII: George Jackson

Thursday 23 July 2015, 6-7pm: Our most recent reading group was a huge success and we’re super excited to continue our readings highlighting theorists, thinkers, and philosophers who have been imprisoned. These reading groups have been chosen in solidarity with statewide actions against solitary confinement.

For our twelfth reading group, we’ll be reading excerpts from George Jackson’s “Soledad Brother” – a compilation of letters written to his friends, comrades, and supporters.
