About the poets:
Marie Boucher dove into the genre of poetry when she attended Ellen Bass’s writing workshop in Esalen in November, 2010. Marie’s poems have been published annually in the Porter Gulch Review since 2011. Marie participates in the annual “Bridging the Bay” poetry forum at MPC, the PGR reading at Cabrillo College, and other regional poetry events. She has been teaching writing and presentation skills at Monterey Peninsula College since 1997 and the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, since 2002. Marie conducts
writing workshops and retreats through her independent venture, Green Heart Works. She has taken groups to locations in Big Sur and Hastings Preserve in Carmel Valley. She also leads watershed tours with the Carmel River Watershed Conservancy, taking school groups to the river and areas along the Carmel River watershed.

Cheryldee Huddleston’s play, Who Loves You, Jimmie Orrio? won the PEN USA Award for Drama. Her new play, Buffalo Bones [or Light Up The Night: A Silent Movie] was recently read at the Dramatists Guild SF Footlights Series. Children of an Idol Moon, about the Brontë family, was produced at the University of Georgia; other work has been produced off Broadway, in Los Angeles, North Carolina, Virginia and Oregon. She has had staged readings in New York City, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and at the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Her numerous residencies include Hawthornden International Writers Retreat in Scotland, The New Globe in London, and Brava! Women in the Arts. Her work, including Who Loves You, Jimmie Orrio? together with monologues in two anthologies, are published by Dramatic Publishing in Chicago. A former playwriting instructor at the San Francisco Playwrights Foundation, she is currently a graduate writing coach at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey.
