June 18th, 7pm: Join with radicals, thinkers, activists, poets, and intellectuals on the Monterey Peninsula to read and discuss some of the greatest philosophers of our time.  We are particularly interested in 20th and 21st century philosophy, and our second readings will come from Michel Foucault’s History of Sexuality.

Second Sunday of each month, come to Old Capitol Books to see the featured poets of the Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium.

24 May, 2014 1pm-3pm: come to Old Capitol Books to meet local author, L.C. Wright talk about his book, Castle Grey.

9 June, 2014: 5pm – An Evening of Visions and Dreams with Moira Crone and Rodger Kamenetz. Two award winning writers who use dreams in their poetry and prose, will talk about fundamentals of our dreams and their relationship to creativity and well being.

29 June, 2014 – 3pm: Come by the bookshop at 3pm to meet Bunny Stevens and buy copies of her new book, Unholy Union, a memoir of clergy sexual abuse in the Salvation Army.
