Theory and Philosophy Reading Group

Michel Foucault14 May, 6:30pm: Join with radicals, thinkers, activists, poets, and intellectuals on the Monterey Peninsula to read and discuss some of the greatest philosophers of our time.  We are particularly interested in 20th and 21st century philosophy, and our first readings will come from the work of Italian theorist Silvia Federici.

Silvia FedericiSilvia Federici (born 1942, Parma, Italy) is an American scholar, teacher, and activist from the radical autonomist feminist Marxist tradition. She is a professor emerita and Teaching Fellow at Hofstra University, where she was a social science professor. She worked as a teacher in Nigeria for many years, is also the co-founder of the Committee for Academic Freedom in Africa, and is a member of the Midnight Notes Collective.
