For 20 + years Cynthia Bryant has been traveling the path of Poetry Biz. Trekking the writing, reading, doing readings, putting together readings, contests, festivals and workshops of poetry up and down California. Cynthia was the Alameda County Fair Poetry coordinator 2003-2005 that won an award for bringing poetry readings to the fair. In 2005-2007 Cynthia was selected Poet Laureate for Pleasanton, California and again in 2011-2013. Cynthia now lives in Monterey, California with her husband Allen and their two Boston Terriers named Gracie Mae and Oscar Wilde. Coming soon Cynthia will host the LAST SUNDAYS’ FISHBOWL POETRY. Victim of enthusiasms, Michael McLaughlin has worked for twenty-eight years as an Artist -in-Residence at Atascadero State Hospital, a maximum-security forensic facility, as a Contract Artist with the California Department of Corrections and with California Poets in the Schools. A graduate of The University of Southern California’s Master of Professional Writing program and founding editor of The Southern California Anthology, McLaughlin’s most recent collection of poetry is Countless Cinemas (University of Hell Press, Portland, Oregon 2016). Selected Poet Laureate of San Luis Obispo County in 2003, McLaughlin “curates” Santa Maria’s Live from the CORE poetry/performance series and teaches English at the U.S. Federal Penitentiary in Lompoc, California through Allan Hancock Community College.
