August 12, 2014, 5pm-7pm: Head on over to Old Capitol Books later this month to meet Crystal Clary, the author of Signs of a Serial Killer, a crime novel based on a true story.
“Stephen Peter Morin was a serial killer who murdered at least 30 women between the 1970s and the 1980s. One of Morin’s victims was author Crystal Clary’s best friend. In this gripping new book, Signs of a Serial Killer, Clary shares a story of loss but importantly she talks about the red flags that could save one’s life.
“Signs of a Serial Killer chronicles the author’s quest to uncover the truth behind the startling disappearance of her friend. This honest and deeply moving account is different from other works of true crime in that it focuses on the life of the victim, painting a picture of her as a person which dreams and relationships and not just a number in a case file.
“Clary details her relationship with Sue in traditional omniscient form, allowing readers to follow the two together through their high school years, Sue’s disappearance and how it impacted Clary’s life. Her account also reveals shocking revelations that she unearthed at the end of her agonizing search.
“Clary believes that all too often killers are given a voice in the media but victims are not. She hopes her book will not only give a voice to the victims but also help women everywhere know what signs to look for and potentially save lives.”
