The Monterey Bay Poetry Consortium Presents: Kim Ly Bui-Burton & Dan Baldwin

Kim Ly Bui-Burton is a Vietnamese-American poet who has lived on the Peninsula since the 60s. Kim graduated from UCSC with a degree in Literature/Creative Writing and from SJSU with an MLIS. Her poems have been anthologized in works as diverse as Tilting the Continent: Southeast Asian American Writing, I am Becoming the Woman I’ve Wanted, a National Book Award winner and The Body Eclectic: an anthology of poetry for teens. Kim works in municipal government as a Community Services Director.

Dan Baldwin has been writing poetry for approximately 15 years. He has an M.A. in Nonfiction Writing from the University of Iowa. He was a writer for many years in Dallas, Texas. After a 15-year museum career, he became CEO of the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He has been CEO of the Community Foundation for Monterey County since 2010. He is married to Anne Ylvisaker, an award-winning writer of middle grade fiction.
