Zoe Atlas’s poem, “Plant a Tree in Israel for $18,” is a moving portrayal of complexities surrounding Jewish identity and the displacement of Palestinian people.
Zoe Atlas is currently a student at CSUMB studying creative writing and social action. She is a lifelong musician, writer, poet, and deep listener. Atlas was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Never feeling at home there, she finds refuge and inspiration in the beaches and redwood forests of California’s central and northern coast. She is working on her first book: a collection of poems, mantras, recipes, and personal essays.
