Friday 31 March 2017, 7pm: Old Capitol Books and the Direct Action Monterey Network are teaming up again to continue their exploration of twentieth century fascism through theory and philosophy. Last month the philosophy group read Hannah Arendt – selections from Origins of Totalitarianism and Eichmann in Jerusalem. Dr. Jan Knippers Black returns for “Coffee Time” (MIIS Amnesty International)

DATE CHANGE: Wednesday 10 May 2017: Dr. Jan Knippers Black, a professor at MIIS is returning to Old Capitol Books this May! She will discuss in an intimate setting her involvement as a board member of Amnesty International. Her latest book, The Politics of Human Rights Protection will be raffled off for book signing after the event. She also will do book signing for other books that participants bring to the coffee talk. The first 15 people will have guaranteed seating. Standing room is also available.
